Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to collect a penalty for unauthorized construction or extensions and the penalty would be double the property tax on the entire illegal area of the structure. The BMC will soon start collection of such penalty from illegal construction and extension in the city. This penalty was levied under section 152(a) which was added to the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888. The amendment was added in April 2010 to put up a new structure for the calculation of property tax and this amendment also decided property tax evaluation on the basis capital values of properties. The announcement regarding the new provisions over penalty was announced by municipal commissioner Sitaram Kunte on February 5, 2014. The actual implementation of this provision will come on board from June 2014 as relevant dat to process the new implementation will be ready by then. The BMC has not decided whether the penalty will be levied for the current year or for the year 2014-2015 or it would be charged from 2010 when the law was amended in the system. The provision states that the charge of penalty and collection of property tax cannot be taken as some sort of regularization of such illegal construction and extension. Such illegal constructions and extension are enclosing open spaces like balconies; terraces etc. and some shops are encroaching on footpaths across the city.Earlier, The BMC calculated property tax on the basis of the rent which could be fetched by the property, but the revision of rules altered the calculation process and now it is calculated on the basis of the capital value of the property. займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
