New Delhi: The government is all set to come up with a new Integrated Processing Development Scheme which will address environmental issues of the textile processing units. The government has informed parliament about the integrated processing Development scheme.Under the new integrated processing development Scheme. About four to six Brownfield projects and three to five Greenfield projects will be set up with an estimated cost of about Rs 500 crore. The scheme is intended to provide government support to establish common infrastructure to improve i8nvestment in the sector in the major processing clusters. of the project costThe scheme entails government support of about 50 per cent cost of the project cost with exceeding limit of Rs 75 crore. The information of the government’s plan over this scheme was given by the minister of State Textile Panabaaka Lakshmi in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.The scheme would also cover water treatment and effluent treatment plant and technology; common infrastructure on preferably green technology; and common facilities like testing labs and R&D Centers etc. The first group of water treatment and effluent treatment plant will have to have government grant for processing.The land will be purchased and arranged by a special Purpose Vehicle and Government grant will not be allowed to use for the procurement of the land.
