LMRC Starts Survey of Land for Construction Yard at Kanpur Road

lucknow-metro-railLucknow: Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has recently got a nod from Airport Authority of India (AAI) to develop construction yard near Amausi Airport for the Metro Rail Project. The LMRC is now all set to get approval of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the construction proceedings of the LMRC. DMRC is an interim consultant of the LMRC assisting in the development of the Metro Rail in Lucknow.LMRC has urged for about 12 acres of land on Kanpur road situated near the airport’s runway, this land is proposed to be used for the yard of construction of girders and fabrication of metro Infrastructure. Airport Authority of India has approved the proposal of the LMRC offering different land for the proposed development. The offered land of 15 acres is situated on the west side of the Kanpur Road.LMRC has started survey of the approved land to measure its sustainability for construction of yard, and it will also send a letter to DMRC regarding the same asking to analyze the sustainability of this land to get approval from The DMRC. LMRC is seeking a quicker process for the approval to start the development of metro in Lucknow.Once the yard is developed, it would be used for construction, fabrication and storage purpose of basic infrastructure required for Metro rail project in Lucknow. This land will be taken on lease for the period of 3 to 4 years from AAI which will be returned to AAI after the completion of the proposed work of Metro.The metro project is stuck in conflict of two agencies DMRC and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL).
