Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) along with district administration made an effort to eradicate unauthorized structures that came in the way of Kanadia Link Road development. The authorities finally were successfully able to destruct 111 such buildings. They have already cleared similar encroachments present on Bangana main road, earlier.With the concern that numerous shops and homes may get destructed by this drive, the dwellers requested the authorities to lessen the road width to 60 ft, hence their opposition had put the encroachment act on hold. However with the strong police support, the authorities were able to clear off all the hurdles that came in the way of developing 2.5 km Link Road that would link the Bengali Crossing with 104 ft width road Bypass.Though there was a slight opposition from the residents, the anti-encroachment drive razed illegal structure that included liquor shops, homes of journalists and also politicians, resorts, farmhouses, shops as well as temples.According to the sources, the dwellers were already given prior intimation about the drive and had given them certain time to vacant the space.
