Gurgaon Land Owners Seek Compensations According to New Acquisition Act

gurgaon-landGurgaon: Haryana Government had decided to acquire about 700 acres of land in various parts of Gurgaon which would be compensated according to the old land acquisition law. Villagers initially agreed to take part in the acquisition process but with introduction of new acquisition act these villagers are demanding compensation according to the new law.Villagers claim that they have been issued notices in a hurry by the government during the period of December 12 to December 31, 2013 under the provisions of the land acquisition Act, 1894. The government finalized news act of Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and resettlement, 2013 in January 1st and many of these villagers have file objections against these acquisitions and have demanded compensation according to the new land acquisition Act. The objection has been filed with the Land Acquisition Office in Gurgaon seeking further action on the process.The land acquisition process has been commenced in various regions in Gurgaon such as Farrukh Nagar, Basai, Ullahwas, Nurpur, Akhliampur, Badashapur, Jharsa, manesar and Mubarakpur. The villagers have clarified that they are not against the acquisition of their land but they seek compensation to be according to the new Land Acquisition Act.According to the new land acquisition law, the villagers will get compensation according to the current market value for their properties.
