Real estate developers are now eyeing the conservation zones of National Capital Region which includes green belts of Aravali, Yamuna riverbed and other major water bodies within the vicinity for construction activities. Developers are looking out to remove restrictions on the recreational activities imposed by government tourist policies. They have requested the NCR Planning Board (NCRPB) and also asked to involve tourism projects under the category of recreation.Haryana is trying to remove all the restriction on the construction activities in conservation zones. Five prominent real estate firms have shown interest in development and have submitted their views to the board. The suggestion and objection details have been uploaded on the official website of NCRPB.The developers wanted that after receiving the environmental clearance from the competent authority regarding the addition of tourism projects within the category of regional recreation activities, once the provision is allowed, it should be changed to regional recreation activities according to the state government tourism schemes after acquiring environment approval from the competent authority.According to the Haryana Tourism policy, the mega projects would boast 70% of the area for games and rides, 15% commercial space and other 15% for parking and open green spaces. The commercial space would comprise of multiplexes, restaurants and accommodation facilities.
