Calicut: M K Muneer, Minister of social justice and panchayats has asked the state government to provide finance of Rs 100 crore to start the land acquisition process. The authority is keen to start preliminary works for the process of land acquisition for development of Mananchira-Vellimadakunnu road.sThe Minister of social justice and panchayat announced in the meeting at the collectorate conference hall that authority need about Rs 345 crore to start land acquisition process for various infrastructure and road development world in the city.The development for which the land acquisition needs to be done will be developed under the City Roads Improvement Scheme for which fund of Rs 345 crore is required for the completion of land acquisition along the 8.4 km stretch between Vellimadakunnu and Manachira.The proposed road will be a major stretch connecting the NH-17 at Malapparamba bypass while it will connect NH-212 at Eranhipalam junction. The road will become highly beneficial for the city transport solving existing traffic issues in the city which will further act as a catalyst in the city development.The authority has completed the land acquisition process for various other road developments like Puthiyara Road, Karapparamba-Kalluthankadavu road, Kovoora-Vellimadakunnu road, Gandhi Road-Mini bypass road and Panattuthazham-CWRDM road.
