Panaji: The State government of Goa has identified 31 illegal structures for the demolition while other 49 constructions have been earmarked for shifting. The structures identified as illegal are all situated on government land. Goa Government will very soon take action against all these illegal structures situated on government and communidade lands.Action against found illegal structures on government land which are identified as the encroachments will be either razed of or shifted to other places. The highest encroachments on government lands have been witnessed at Ponda where about 55 encroachments are reported till now.The state government had earlier announced that the deputy collectors, mamlatdars and administrators will be responsible for any new illegal encroachments on the land of their jurisdiction. The announcement also stated that these officials will have to file an affidavit every month saying that no illegal encroachment has come up in their jurisdiction.Taluka level committees established under religious structure policy are scrutinizing the proposals regarding the number of structures which will be razed and the properties in Goa which will be regulated and regularized.The South Goa collector reported seven illegal structures on communidade land which are still waiting for proper action for the government. Administrator of communidade identified 61 encroachments in the north zone while 5 structures in the central zone and total 736 in the south zone.A large number of encroachment cases were reported in Bicholim and Mormugao talukas.
