BMC to Upload Approved Plans on New Website

BMC-building-aprovalsMumbai: The recent emotional row over the illegalities in Worli based Campa Cola building has prompted Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to launch a service where citizens can easily access plans of approved buildings in the city. The BMC will create an online portal where all building permissions will be put for the public viewing.Although the State Information Commissioner has ordered to restrict the access to the plans of the buildings, BMC has decided to take this step for the citizens’ convenience. Civic body officials announced that BMC has started compiling the data by scanning all plans which will further be uploaded on the web for potential property buyers. Earlier buyers had to file an RTI application to get the information about the building permissions before buying a home. The overall process of uploading building plans online will take a lot of time as the compiled data will be huge and massive. The BMC had stated that it would put details of all the illegal structure in the city to ensure that buyers must get an idea about the illegal buildings before buying the house. The decision of creating a portal was a result of the demolition drive in the Campa Cola compound which gave rise to huge number of RTI applications filed in the BMC to know the illegal construction or building plans in the city. The increase in RTIs has increased the load of the civic body as it takes huge efforts to answer these queries. The BMC is working along with the technical advisory committee and RTI activists to make the whole system more productive. The panel will help BMC to upload the compiled data by assisting in deciding what data should be uploaded on the web.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
