Thiruvananthpuram: The city corporation has decided to issue a notification which will deny all the permits to high rise structures and shopping complexes in various zones in the city. Constructions coming under zones at Attipra and Kadakampally regions have been issues notification refusing permission for the construction of high rise structures. The regions have been earmarked as strategic zones in the draft master plan 2013 of the municipal corporation.Hereafter, corporation will issue permissions only for single occupancy homes which will span up to three stories and have an area of less than 3000 sq ft. The decision will be directly applicable as applicants don’t have to take clearance from the town planning department. The officials in the zonal offices have already stopped issuing permissions for the construction in areas coming under Attipra and Kadakampally.Many applications seeking permissions were pending in the zones like Kazhakkoottam, Attipra, Pundukadavu, Veli, and Pallithura as these areas have been earmarked as places of strategic importance. In each ward, about 30 applications have been blocked by the corporationDeputy Mayor G happy Kumar said that corporation has considered the complaints and has already taken a directive which will allow the permission for houses which will be less than 3000 sq ft. The corporation will not give any permission to shopping complexes or apartments or any similar structures above the predefined limits.Attipra region comprises four wards while Kadakampally region comprises three wards where building permissions will be restricted.
