Delhi: The allocation of 30 commercial properties has been put on hold owing to the arrears in payment which stood at Rs.200 crore. Two plots that were to be allotted for the construction of commercial space in sectors 61 and 2 of Noida have been suspended. The spaces were to be given out for establishing malls. However the allottees have not paid for the allotted land space and therefore have been denied permission for construction.The Noida Authority will keep the allocation process on hold till the allottees settle the dues. Almost Rs.200 crore is yet to be recovered from the defaulters.The officials have also refrained from giving permission for the sub-leasing or mortgaging of the land by the allottees. The Authorities have sent out a warning to these defaulters saying that the allotment will be cancelled if the payment is not received within the given deadline.28 commercial properties belong to high end areas of Noida like sector 22 and 29. Out of the 30 properties, 2 have are plots that will house commercial constructions. The 30 defaulters have failed to respond to the warning. Commercial properties in Noida have seen lesser absorption in the starting of the fiscal year. Despite of the economic slowdown, takers of commercial space have come forward for the construction of commercial spaces. However the negligence on their part has invited the displeasure of the Government authorities.They are liable to pay the pending amount along with a penalty.
