LMC Proposed 100 Crore Fund for Infrastructure Development

lucknow-infrastructureLucknow: Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has sent a detailed project report regarding the infrastructure developments in the city. The state government’s scheme ‘Samagra Vikas Yojana’ would fund the infrastructure development projects of the Lucknow. The reported developments in the project report are situated at various wards in the city with an estimated cost of Rs 99.97 crore for overall development.Last year, LMC had proposed funds of about 115 crore, but could only get the amount of Rs 29.53 crore. LMC is hoping that this year state will sanction complete amount as per the estimated project value. Once the sanction from the state government is obtained, the LMC will utilize all the funds prior to the next year’s monsoon.The separate proposal has been sent to the government for the development of heritage areas. The civic body is considering the infrastructure development in localities which house heritage monuments and Eidgahs in city. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav had advised Nagar Nigam to allocate ample amount for the development of such heritage localities.State government’s Samagra Vikas fund is an annual fund given to the Nagar Nigam for the development of proper infrastructure in the city. According to the current DPR sent to the government about 12.5 crore is allotted for the development of Gomtinagar and about 25 crore is allocated for the development of Old City areas.Along with infrastructure development proposal for Lucknow city, another proposal for creation of footpaths on Park Road, Rana Pratap Marg and Tilak Marg has been submitted to the government.The development of the heritage areas has been allocated an amount of 18 crore by the LMC.
