Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will prepare a revised development plan (DP) for the city in next two years. The old development plan was sanctioned in 1995 by the state government and it will expire in the next two years. The state government had transferred some areas of the Pimpri Chinchwad New Township Development Authority. The areas also got the approval of separate development plan in 1997 which will expire in 2015.The new development plan (DP) will be prepared as per the provisions and regulations of the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning (MRTP) Act 1966. The PCMC will announce the intention to prepare a new development plan with 60 days time limit to receive suggestions and objections against it from the citizens.Afterwards the civic body will create a draft development plan within two years and once the draft development plan is completed it will again invite the suggestions and objection regarding the draft development plan and these suggestions and objection will be submitted to the state government. The development plan must be completed within three years after announcing the intention of creating a new development plan.Pratibha Bhadane, town planning director, PCMC said that the period of old development plan expires in 2015 which included development plan of areas of Pimpri, Chinchwad, Nigdi, Bhosari, Akurdi along with other adjacent villages. The civic body would need about four to five years to prepare the revised development plan including the government’s approval process.Civic administration will appoint a private organization with an approval of civic general body which will conduct the preliminary work to prepare the revised development plan. The preliminary work will include preparing existing land use maps, conducting a survey to help analyze various city parts according to the development plan.The villages which were merged later in PCMC limits got the approved development plan in 2009. These villages will not be included in the revised new development plan.
