Jaipur Metro Rail on Track for Trial Run

jaipur-metroThe Jaipur Metro Project successfully got completed with the record time of two and a half years and commenced its trial run on Tuesday. The project is developed by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) along with Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC). The trial run was flagged off by Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Managing Director of DMRC and other dignitaries also attended the inauguration ceremony.The trial run which is compulsory obligation for commissioning of the Metro corridors, started off between Mansarovar and the Shyam Nagar stations of 9.5 km long Mansarovar – Chandpole corridor.The Pink line of the Pink city which is Phase 1A of Jaipur Metro Rail Project comprises of 9 stations and is likely to start its operation from next month. The initial trial run which took place on Tuesday covered four kms consisting of four metro stations. The trial run will be extended gradually for the remaining corridors too.In 2010, DMRC and JMRC signed an agreement based on which the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is constructing corridor for Jaipur metro.The 9.25 km extended stretch is a part of 11. 566 km long Mansarovar – Badi Chaupar corridor parallel to the east-west direction under Jaipur Metro Rail, Phase I. The second metro corridor under Jaipur Metro Phase II, aligned along north-south direction starting from Durgapura to Ambabari will be a 23 kms long stretch.This metro project is DMRC’s first project ever outside National Capital Region. DMRC has worked as a consultant for planning and executing metro rail projects in various cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Pune and many others.
