Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has been on the spree of demolition of illegal construction from a week or two. The AMC has been working on the illegal construction issues for weeks and finally it has taken an action against the illegal construction and encroachments in the city at various places.Last week, AMC’s Estate and Encroachment Department demolished several illegal units in Inderpuri ward of the city. The construction of 21980 sq ft area on plot number 96 situated opposite to the Yogiraj bungalow was demolished as it was found to be constructed without any permission from the municipal corporation.Along with Inderpuri ward, AMC also took action against various encroachments in the city which includes evacuation of 2000 sq ft of land in Jodhpur ward and evacuation of plot number 55 adjacent to the Shivaranjani bridge near Sheetal-Varsha mall which was illegally occupied by the shops and vendors. AMC also demolished about 10 temporary stalls and shops by fining them for Rs 25,000.The demolishing mission of the AMC had demolished various illegal constructions units across the city. The estate and encroachment department demolished many illegal construction units in Kulupur ward. Safar Bazaar construction of 1600 sq ft was also pulled down by the department which was led by the central zone team of the AMC. At Safar Bazaar, the owner was trying set up an illegal shopping complex at the place by altering the original complex present in the area.
