Pune: Out of the 166 hectare land allocated as per the Development Plan in Baner-Balewadi, the state government has converted the reservations in major part of land for making residential spaces. 30 hectare out of the total area is reserved for biotechnology and agriculture business zone while around 136 hectare has been vacated and planned to get more residential projects.The state council has asked the citizens of Pune for any kind of suggestions/complaints for improvement of the decision. Concerned citizens can get the copies of maps and DP from the office of municipal commissioner and submit their views before September 20.After the inclusion of 23 villages in the PMC limits that included Baner-balewadi, the Development Plan (DP) has been made and approved in 2005 with the reservation of land for both residential and commercial purpose. Now the state is redefining the reservations including the addition of playground, hospitals, schools and auditoriums. Once in 2008, under the Green Pune Movement, around 70,00 complaints and suggestions had emerged from aware citizens against the changes in development plan for Baner-Balewadi.Now as the government continues to change the clauses in DP, it is time to foresee how many come forward and if the state excels in its goal.
