No Change in Land Reforms Act: CM

kolhapurKolhapur: The Chief Minister of Maharashtra has denied any change in the land reforms Act. There were rumours that the Centre is planning a fresh land reforms Act and the Union Development ministry has come up with a new proposal to decrease the further ceiling on agricultural land. However the CM has ruled out such news and said that land is a subject of state and the land ceiling act in Maharashtra is in action since 1959, there is no need to change any clause/law in the present Act.In the Sadbhavana rally while addressing the farmers, the minister has cleared the fact and opposed any change. He also supported the food security bill and expects that 46 percent of the state population will be benefited. The minister also highlighted the better economic conditions prevailing in the state compared to contemporaries. Drought is also one of the major problems in Maharashtra but as this year the state has received ample rainfall, suffering might lessen.
