Lucknow: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is set to increase monthly rentals of its properties. The decision regarding this increase of rental rates is most likely to be taken in the house meeting at LMC on August 18.The corporation had rented these properties at a fixed rent and now wants to change rates according to the current DM circle rates for rented properties. Properties rented by corporation were given on fixed rates which are lower than current property rental prices. The corporation also wants to revise the mutation fee of rented properties and this mutation fees will be increased to twice of the previous amount.Officials from the corporation said that the LMC’s properties were rented to people on a fixed monthly rent a long time ago. These properties were passed to other tenants without any registration with the LMC. These new tenants have to submit mutation fees to the corporation.In the previous house meeting in 2012, a proposal related to advertisement rules was sectioned. The new draft of advertisement rules will be submitted in the house meeting with clarification of objections and suggestions.The increase in the monthly rental of properties owned by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation will be beneficial for the revenue department of the corporation.
