Government to Speed up Development of DMIC in Ujjain

industrial-corridorIndore: Government is on a roll to start the work of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project. The State Government of Madhya Pradesh has acquired the land required for the DMIC project near Ujjain and Dewas. The acquired land will be used for the development of KnowledgeCity under the DMIC project by the central Government.The land acquired, is a Government owned land and privately owned land has not yet been acquired due to the court issues in Betma. Farmers affected by the acquisition have gone to the court against the land acquisition for the project.State Government has urged Central Government to sanction Rs 300 crore for the infrastructure development. The DMIC project is being implemented in partnership with the Japanese Government. The corridor is projected to be developed in two phases and is predicted to become global manufacturing and trading hub of India.PK Das, additional chief secretary of state said that the state government is ready to start project work as early as possible in Ujjain. He also added that the State Government will also require Rs 282 crore for water supply to help development of the infrastructure of DMIC.The DMIC project aims to create an environment and top-notch infrastructure which will lead India in a global competition. The development of DMIC will cover six sates, which include Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
