Delhi: The Delhi Government granted permission for development works in unauthorized colonies in Delhi. Under the permission granted by the Government on 7 August, development work will start with an immediate effect in 133 illegal colonies.Revenue Minister of Delhi said that we have removed all obstacles to start proper infrastructure developments in these colonies. Development work in these colonies was necessary for the welfare of people living there. “The development work in the 91 such colonies is on in the war footing,” he added. These colonies partly reside on the forest department and archeological survey of India’s land. Complications behind the development have been solved by the Delhi Government.Last year, the Delhi Government had announced regularization of 895 colonies in month of September. These regularized colonies are established on private land and government land, 312 and 583 colonies respectively.The decision of development in illegal colonies is taken eying to the coming elections in the next year. In 2008, Delhi government issued over 1639 unauthorized colonies with provisional regularization certificates. The government had promised to regularize these colonies once they come to power while distributing provisional certificates.The infrastructure development in 133 colonies will be beneficial for the citizens living in these colonies.
