Kolkata: Kolkata is soon about to boast about its very own twin towers that will be built in the mirror image of the iconic twin towers of the World Trade Center (WTC) that stood majestically adorning the skyline of New York till they were destroyed in 2001. The major difference between the former twin towers and those which are being presently planned is that the New York ones were 110 storeys each while those in Kolkata will have 20 storeys each. The Chief Minister of West Bengal was approached by the promoters of WTC of Mumbai during the Industry Enclave Meet in Mumbai last week. They proposed to construct structures similar to those that used to be present in New York, in Kolkata.Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (Hidco) has been made aware of the proposal and the corporation has welcomed it. It has already set aside a plot at the Central Business District (CBD) in Rajarhat Action Area II. The World Trade Center in Rajarhat will possibly be developed on the basis of public-private-partnership (PPP). Hidco will be sending back the proposal to the WTC developers of Mumbai, MVIRDC, to review the plot and the surrounding areas if they find it imperative to do so.Authorities are enthusiastic about setting up the WTC in the CBD which is to be the future financial hub of Kolkata. It will be beneficial to construct the world class business center here as it will be located close to a 480 acre eco-tourism park, a five star hotel and an international convention center for which the authorities have already allotted land.Hidco is trying to bring in investments for developing the financial hub. The estimated cost for building the twin towers has been set at Rs 180 crore. The authorities have sent out applications to acquire seven plots which will cover an area of 14.6 acres. October 9 will be the last date to send application for plots. A number of banking institutions have already sent offers to get plots in the upcoming financial hub. займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
