Shriram Properties to Raise Rs 450 Crore by the Year-end

shriram-propertiesBangalore: Bangalore based real estate Company Shriram Properties is planning to acquire multiple residential projects across Bangalore and Chennai. The firm will raise fund of Rs 450 crore from various private equity funds.The raised fund will be diverted to four projects in Bangalore and three projects in Chennai totaling to 200 acres, other six acquisitions are on the way along with one under construction residential project. The Shriram Properties will raise these funds from its exiting investors like TPG, Kotak Real Estate, ICICI prudential Asset Management, Sun Apollo, and ASK property.Rs 200 crore will come in special purpose vehicle (SPV) from private equity funds and the remaining Rs 250 crore will be invested by Shriram Properties. SS Asokan, executive director of Shriram properties while confirming said that total fund will most likely to be raised by the year-end.Shriram Properties has recently bought a land parcel of 12.5 acre in Sarjapur Road along the Bangalore IT-Corridor. Shriram Properties had collected about 1200 crore equity fund from Walton Street Capital, Sun Apollo and ASK property Investments in the past five years.Shriram Properties has acquired 100 acre of land parcels in cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Vizag and Coimbatore. The firm has a portfolio of numerous projects spread across the country consisting 24 per cent commercial and 75 per cent residential projects along with 20 million sq ft under construction projects.Private equity funds of about $887 million have been invested in the first half of 2013 across the country.
