Rooftop Solar Energy System to be installed in 550 Dwelling Units

solar-panelsChennai: Chennai residents are slowly turning towards the sun energy with rooftop solar energy systems. Tamil Nadu government has received applications for about 546 kilowatt (Kw) from Chennai. Everlasting power crunch is driving Chennai residents to opt for solar energy systems.Approximately 550 dwelling units have shown interest in solar power systems. Distributed or rooftop solar power system is most advantageous approach as transmission from power plants to houses will be without any loss of power. Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) is a state agency which maneuvers activities of adoption of renewable energy sources.Under a state solar policy, Tamil Nadu government has announced incentives for households which are interested as cost of installing a solar system is very high and vary from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 1.8 lakh for 1 Kw system.The government has set an example with several government buildings setting up rooftop solar energy systems. TEDA office was the first of such government offices to have a solar system on rooftop. The government is also planning to set 30 Kw system each on the Secretariat, Raj Bhawan and the Corporation.Sudeep Jain, Chirman and Managing Director of TEDA said, “The electricity regulatory commission is holding public hearing and relevant guideline will be out soon.” The government has declared its policy but no significant implementations have been witnessed from government authorities.Apart from government offices, several private entities have also set up solar energy systems like D G Vaishnav College, Economist House, and Scope International are amongst others.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
