Mumbai: On Monday when a portion of a building in Mahim collapsed, killing 10, it taught us a lesson. If you look at the tattered condition of it then you”ll understand the need of regular structural survey of buildings. The 29 years old, five-storey Altaf Mansion in Mahim became an example of carelessness by the citizens in carrying out the structural analysis. The tragic incident on Monday night had made it tough for the residents of the building. It took hours in pulling the dead and injured bodies and clearing the rubble under which many valuable items of the residents got buried. Multiple truck load of debris is dumped at Mahim seashore by the workers of Bhihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Many workers were also deployed to search the important possessions including articles and cash.BMC has planned that it will pull down the other part of building. But what Mahim building taught us after falling is how we axe our own feet. We should not forget to carry out structural audits for the buildings that are less than 30 years. More than 3 lakh properties in Mumbai are nearing 30 and it is very important to check the structures for the purpose of safety. A group planning between the citizens and the civic body is highly needed here to safeguard our concrete structures.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
