Bangalore: LinkedIn the California based social networking site with a growing reputation all over the world, has just booked office space of 74,341 sq ft in Prestige Technology Park in Bangalore. The office space will be used for expansion of the company in India and will cost LinkedIn Rs 43 per sq ft.Since having started operating in India in 2009, LinkedIn has grown by almost 500%. The company had 150 employees as of December 2012. The new facility can easily sit 750 people. It will be used for expansion that is estimated to be taking place in the next three years and will also consolidate the progress of the offices already present.LinkedIn India Country Manager Nishant Rao said, “The new office space in Bangalore will house employees across functions, including customer service, engineering, sales and marketing.”Property consultant DTZ will be handling the transaction. LinkedIn already has offices in Mumbai and Gurgaon. It is headquartered at Mumbai while has two offices at Gurgaon and a technology center in Bangalore. It is the world’s largest and most popular professional networking site and with 20 million users, India accounts for 9% of the total users of LinkedIn in the world.Prestige Tech Park has a total area of 22 acres with an average plot size of 40,000 sq ft.
