Pune: In a move to recover the correct property tax, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is going for a survey of properties that comes in the municipal limits. The municipal commissioner Shrikar Pardeshi has given the orders to conduct the scrutiny such that the category of property and exact areas will be registered to derive the exact property tax without any miscalculations.PCMC will check if the property is residential or commercial of if the use has been changed from residential to commercial. Also if the properties have extended their boundaries then that will also be checked to be imposed extra tax with the penalty charges.The scrutiny is planned to be completed within a month and then the notices will be sent to the owners. The issue of property tax is raised by the chairman of standing committee in a meeting that is focused on the continued problems witnessed by the municipal officials in calculating and collecting the property tax.Apart from the issue of property tax, the officials in the meeting have also urged to increase security measures around the water reservoir built by corporation in few areas.
