Pune: After the altered real estate regulatory bill which includes provisions against illegal properties, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) take one more step towards unauthorized property deals. PCMC have started sending SMSs to almost 1 lakh mobile users who are purchasing the residential flats. This initiative has been made in order to ensure whether the property buyers are investing in authorized properties or unauthorized ones.The civic body is putting in all efforts to bring a stop on illegal construction. Most of the time, the property buyers are fooled by the developers and they land up investing in unauthorized properties therefore the civic body has started sending SMSs to the investors so that they can confirm the property status before buying.According to the wireless in-charge of PCMC, the civic body has started this revolution to spread awareness among the people regarding the need of authorized properties. The civic body is planning to destruct the illegal properties and is on a demolition drive against the unauthorized properties which have been constructed after 31st March, 2013. If the state government fails to legalize the residences which are built before 31st March then the civic will also have to demolish those properties.Out of 3.6 lakh properties registered with property tax department, about 1.2 lakh properties are unauthorized in this city.
