Hyderabad: The mayor of Hyderabad has ordered the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to grab the properties under the land acquisition act if the owners don’t come up to negotiate. He also advised the officials of town planning to file notice such that there would be no legal issues regarding the acquisition. The powering of land acquisition is due to the road widening issues. In one such case like the Lakdikapul parallel bridge got inaugurated a year late due to court cases due to the issues of acquisition.The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has planned to spend Rs 294 crore on flyovers, bridges, Rs 94 crore on constructing link roads and Rs 225 crore on road widening. Also the mayor has given his eye to check why the cheques meant for the compensation given in exchange of acquired land is getting expired and the high need of deadlines for revalidating them.In addition to all this, a report was also asked by the mayor listing the number of approvals delivered by the GHMC standing committee for land acquisition and the cheques that have been expired. The officials of the LA wing expressed that the delay was inevitable due to court cases.
