Building Permissions May be Relaxed to Avoid Unauthorized Constructions

PCMCPune: Rules for the authorized building permissions are set to be relaxed in the near future to discourage the unauthorized constructions in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). Prithviraj Chavan, Chief Minister will soon have the meeting with civic officials of Pimpri Chinchwad along with the public representatives regarding the relaxation of the building permissions. Chavan had recently announced in February that the government’s resolution over the regularization of unauthorized constructions in PCMC will be issued soon.Vilas Lande MLA of Bhosari Assembly constituency said that the common person has to go through numerous documentations and procedure to obtain the authorized permission for the building construction. The procedure is time consuming as well as little expensive hence people opt for unauthorized homes instead of going through the authorization procedure to save the money and time.Along with this, civic body also proposed a 500-meter buffer zone around the Moshi garbage depot. The development plan for the newly merged villages will take care that no construction will be allowed in the buffer zone of the Moshi garbage depot. Vilas Lande said that he asked for the reduction of the buffer zone by 30 meters which is yet in progress.Bhaskar Jadhav, State Urban Development Minister said that no new construction will be allowed in the buffer zone of the Moshi garbage depot.
