New Delhi: New Land Acquisition Act is most likely to be presented in the second half of the budget session. The new Act will provide a big hike in the compensation of land acquisition which will be most beneficial for the farmers in rural areas and also land owners from the urban region. 117 year old act will become the most important factor to draw 2014’s election poll towards ruling party.Ruling government is keen to ensure the easy passage for the bill in parliament hence they called all party meeting to resolve all the differences and bring in consensus for the bill. The government is accepting views on the bill from substantial parties which could be considered in the next all party meeting scheduled on April 18, just four days before the budget session resumes. The earlier party meeting was held on 7th March.Rural Development Minister claimed that the new bill will provide compensation up to four times that of market prices in rural areas and two times for urban lands. While acquiring land for private industry, 80 percent consent of the people is compulsory. The commencement of the bill will bring a new hope for the farmers in the rural areas as they used to get very low amount for their lands.Though government has rejected most of the suggestions from the opposition party, they are going to include some precautionary suggestions. The government is planning on building a stricter assessment rule for high value agricultural land.
