Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) which looks after the development and progress of the city by introducing affordable housing plans and looking after the infrastructural facilities is planning to introduce a new service for the convenience of city residents. From April 1st, 2013 VUDA is going to launch an online service for building.Vice Chairman N. Yuvraj discussed this initiative at a meeting in the presence of the developers and builders. Online applications would help the applicants to know the status of their applications online itself rather than going to the office. The applicants can log in to their VUDA account and access their files anytime and anywhere.The vice chairman has asked for the suggestions from the builders and developers of Visakhapatnam to improve the functioning of the online service. The online service for building applications will be introduced to ensure better transparency and smooth working of the various stages of application, starting from the receipt stage.VUDA is also planning to extend its layout applications in future. It is also trying to change or modify the procedures regarding Non-Agricultural Land Assessment (NALA) charges, land ownership documents and handing over of the amenities like parks, recreational areas, roads.VUDA also is asking for developers and builders proposals on the reduction illegal layouts.
