Bangalore:The Urban Property Ownership Records (UPOR) project that will provide owners a Property Record card is on roll in Karnataka. However in its starting phase residents of Mysore and Shimoga are experiencing trouble getting the PR card. And there’s a valid reason for it. According to the civic body, if you are a part of a residential housing group/complex that is facing charges of encroachment in the municipality amenities and water bodies then it will be a problem in the procedure that may distance you from getting the PR card.The documents needed to get the PR card are: Khata (the property registration document) issued by the urban local body, the registration certificate issued by the stamps and registration department, the land use conversion certificate, and related documents. The residents of locations mentioned above are having tricky situation because of negligence in cross-checking of documents/flawed certificates or encroachments. Sometimes the builders and the civic agencies too are responsible in their weakness in furnishing proper documents in time.The encroachment problem is holding back an individual from getting the PR card due to the encroachments by the builder. However the residents can move to consumer courts anytime to complain against the builder.BDA has claimed 134 illegal layouts in different parts of Bangalore.
