Gurgaon: The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) which is TATA Group’s hospitality firm is planning to increase its count globally by making it to a total of 200 by the end of 2018. Currently the company has 117 operational hotels all over the world and 83 more will be added in the future expansion plan.Recently IHCL had launched Vivanta by Taj, its 100th hotel (210 room built at a cost of Rs 1.8 crore per room) at Gurgaon (26th of Vivanta brand). The company operates in four major brands viz. luxury brand Taj, upscale Vivanta by Taj Hotel and Resorts, high/mid-market hotels under Gateway Hotel brand and economy hotels under the Ginger brand.The expansion of hotels will directly affect the growth of commercial real estate. As the major body is Indian, heavy revenue is expected to be generated that will infuse energy in the realty sector.
