Mumbai: On Tuesday 5th March, Godrej Properties jointly with Jet Airways announced the launch of their commercial project in the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. Godrej Properties Managing Director and Chief Executive Pirojsha Godrej declared that the construction of the building, which will be named Godrej BKC, has already begun and is expected to be completed by 2015.The realty firm Godrej Properties and Jet Airways are 50/50 partners in the joint venture and the profit from the development and sale of the property will be equally divided between the two partners. However Jet Airways has retained 2.5 lakh sq. ft. of the 1.3 million sq. ft. which is the amount of the entire salable land.In the last few years the Indian economy has once more revived from the hard hit it received during recession. Godrej has expressed his hopes of profiting from the trend of increasing demand for commercial spaces, especially in the thriving Bandra Kurla Complex which is now one of the most important business districts in the country. “The economy seems to be reviving. The demand for commercial space, which has been subdued over the last few years, is also expected to pick up. Since the project is also strategically located, we expect to get a good response.” said Godrej.The property will be sold for around Rs. 27,000 to 28,000 per sq. ft. Godrej and Jet are expecting to make a profit of around Rs. 3,500 to 4,000 crore from the sale.
