The budget 2013-14 has given high priority to the infrastructure section of the country. Huge investments for the developments of housing projects, industrial corridors and special zones have been promised. Going deeper into the pipeline, the shining Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) which constitutes the Dholera SIR in Gujarat and Shendra Bidkin in Maharashtra is going to be worked upon first. These two are first smart industrial cities in the country. Along with DMIC, two more industrial corridor have been planned viz. Bangalore-Chennai and Bangalore-Mumbai. The work for these projects has been already started.The DMIC project is supported by the Japanese government. It runs through 1,500 km across Haryana, Rajasthan, MP, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Rs 18,500 crore for the development is already approved. The Indian and Japanese agencies are also planning a comprehensive plan for Bangalore-Chennai Industrial Corridor. This Japanese collaboration will also help in the development of ports, industrial parks and other facilities in Ennore, Chennai and nearby areas.The Bangalore-Mumbai Industrial Corridor is also in its preparatory work.
