Pune: Finally the Pune Municipal Corporation has given a nod to the 6% proposed hike in the property taxes. Previously the hike proposed was 8% which then came down to 6% as an outcome of the discussions held with authoritative different committees. The civic bodies are responsible for presenting a proposal to the standing committee which puts it through multiple rounds of discussion. The result of this discussion becomes a new bill in the forthcoming budget session. The property tax hike will come into effect for the current fiscal year 2013-2014. It is expected that the increase in the property tax will bring in a revenue inflow of Rs. 40 crore which will fuel the infrastructure developments plans and support expenditures on other such projects of public interest. This proposal is inviting mixed reactions from the different segments of the society. Though for the PMC it is a revenue generator; for the common man it is a burden in the times of inflation. Some of the political wings have been opposing this hike and are asking for the implementation of alternative means for revenue generation.Yet another convincing reason for giving a nod to the hike is the fact that there have not been any revisions in the property tax structure over the past 4 years. Petitions have been filed asking for the withdrawal of the proposed hike. The petition is yet to find grounds owing to the blitzkrieg implementation of the property tax hike by the civic authority.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
