Delhi: In a bold step to heighten the revenue, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation is designing new ways to revitalize the market area. The very common and much needed repair will be of trash-like tattered footpaths and with that new commercial complex projects are also in the contemplation process.
All the renovation that is planned for the South Delhi market and its precincts will be done by the next year end. The corporation has proposed commercial buildings with underground parking, better pavements, proper drainage and even greener surrounding.Rajesh Gehlot, chairman of standing committee of the South Delhi Corporation expressed that it’s past where only tailor and sweet shops can be found in South Delhi, now that era is gone and this area is emerging as a bigger hub. He also added how the revamp will take place; first phase will go in the improvement of the existing infrastructure and civic amenities with special care given to the drainage facilities. The commercial complex projects will be carried out in the second phase and renting it is projected by the Corporation to gather more revenue.The clearance is expected by March end however the estimates are not yet calculated. Remembering the festive seasons where only chaos exists in the area, proper parking facility and the cure of congestion is greatly needed and by this new makeover program, a level of ease and relief can be hoped.
