How to get Land records in Karnataka (Pahani/RTC)?

karnatakaBhoomi‘ project initiated by the Revenue Department of Karnataka aims at digitization of land records of the state. It focuses at on-line delivery and proper management of records for citizens who own land in the state of Karnataka. Obtaining assistance from National Informatics Centre, the ‘Bhoomi’ project has successfully digitized 20 million land records of ownership of 6.7 million farmers of the state.Now a farmer can easily obtain a copy of land records (RTC/Pahani) by providing owner’s name/plot number at government authorized kiosks in 177 taluka offices. You only have to pay Rs 15 for the procedure. Also at the kiosks, provision to see the land transactions is also availed. It is also necessary in availing loan from the bank.Difference between manual and computerized RTC?The content in both manual and computerized RTC is totally same. You need to pay Rs. 15 to get the computerized copy. If a person is unable to visit the Tehsildar Office, he can pay Rs. 15 to Village Accountant / Revenue Inspector, who will handover the Pahani by collecting it from the Pahani Centre.What about Mutation?Mutation is a process of changing the ownership or any such liabilities in transactions. A farmer can also check mutation details at the kiosk.What about Crop details in land records?The information of crops is taken once/twice a year after field inspection.
