Chandigarh: Punjab Urban Development Authority has come up with a new real estate project plan in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. This 1000 crore project of Residential Township will be a joint venture of Alpha G: Corp and Chennai-based Rattha Group. The project will be situated in close proximity of Union Territory of Chandigarh and will be distributed over 150 acres of land.The development of this project is a part of vision of Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal. The vision is to reduce the shortage of quality housing in Punjab. As per the data from the Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA), the shortage of urban housing units in Punjab has grown to 12 lakh units in 2011 whereas it was 6.95 lakh units in 2007. The Punjab Government is working on motivating builders and developers for more developments in this region to lower the shortage of housing.Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) formulated the Master Plan of Mullanpur known as New Chandigarh. The township project is just 2.5Km from the Chandigarh territory border and it would be the closest private residential development around Chandigarh.The Mullanpur area is acknowledged as the first Eco City of Punjab furthermore it comes under the administration of GMADA. The proposed Metro line is projected to be adjacent to the township. The GMADA expressway and Baddi, a regional industrial hub will also be in the vicinity of the township.Alpha G: Corp is associated with Punjab from years; it has built and at present managing the Alpha One, state’s biggest lifestyle and entertainment centre.
