The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board comes under the authority of Department of Power. This is responsible for the generation, distribution and regulation of electricity supply in the state. The TNEB has a total capacity of 10,214 MW. Approximately, TNEB has a total number of 20 million consumers currently. The mission of the TNEB is to supply power to all the houses by the end of the year 2012.
