Property Tax Bill Distribution Stalled

Mumbai: The property tax bill distribution, scheduled for September, is getting delayed. The new software, supporting computerized bill generation, is not yet functional. However, according to the BMC, property tax bill distribution is expected to be completed by this November end.The calculation of the final property tax bill is based on the capital value system, which gained authorization in the month of June. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have extended the software delivery date to the 15th of October. The software will then be tested to check for proper functioning and productivity. If not then improvement or changes will be made to the software in order to ensure proper implementation.Joint municipal commissioner S.S. Shinde said that “The process of data entry and the various calculations involved in computing the taxes are very complex. We don’t want to rush into it”. The new system of property-wise coding is adopted in place of the general tax coding for the calculation of property tax which will help in maintaining proper accountability, claims Shinde. The civic officials announced that after the release of software, citizens will have an option of calculating their own property tax amount and can match it with the amount mentioned in the property tax bill sent by BMC.The wait will be worthwhile, since with the property tax bill, a special notice would be issued notifying the property’s current capital value. If there is any discrepancy in the bill amount, citizens will be given 21 days time to register their grievances.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
