Navi Mumbai: Bids for the upcoming Metro have been received from 7 multinational conglomerations participating in this call for tender. The Metro will run from Belapur to Pendhar thereby spanning a distance of almost 11km. The foundation of the Metro has already been laid last year. Now bids are being invited for signaling, communication systems and other related segments of the proposed Metro.The ownership of the first Metro line, build with a cash contract of Rs.2000 crore, will be held by the City Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO). Names of a few participating consortium includes the CAF Consortium, Hyundai Rotem, Siemens AG, ALSTOM Consortium and many others.Amongst these competitors, bids put down by any one of the conglomeration will be selected within a period of 3 months.
