Pune: The city of Pune is now gearing up to improve its green patch. Over the past few years residential and commercial spaces have occupied a significant portion of the city. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken initiatives to ensure a fair amount of greenery across the city. The forest department has also been roped in for this venture.Organized tree plantations and nurturing of existing green land is of priority to the PMC. The civic administration has to work hand in hand with the forest department to facilitate quick implementation of this green plan. Within the next five years, backlogs in the tree plantation will be covered up completely.Vacant plots, highway dividers, gardens will see an increase in the percentage of greenery once the green drive comes into force. Amidst the concrete jungle, citizens can now be on the lookout for some lush greenery around them.The environment of the city will become even more conducive for living if the green plantation drive succeeds.
