India Among the Top Ten Nations That Have Made Good Land Acquisitions

According to the press release reports released by the US based Worldwatch institute, India is among the top ten nations that has acquired land both on the global and domestic fronts. As per the survey made by the institute, India has made good investments in real estate properties dealing with the acquisitions of the land. It has rated India amongst the top ten nations that have made large scale acquisitions of agricultural land. The data is collected from an international alliance of non governmental Organizations and research groups named as land matrix venture that has released the world’s largest database of the records dealing with the properties of real estate since 2000.Approximately 70.2 million hectares of agricultural land across the world has been either provided on lease or sold to public and private investors. This land heap is said to be almost nearly about the same size as that of the democratic Republic of Congo .It accounts for generally about 1.4% of the world’s agricultural land. From amongst the list of eighty- two investor nations, countries like China, Brazil and India account for about 16.5 million hectares of the total hectares given on rent or sold all around the globe. India has acquired about 3.2 million hectares of land from the East African countries like Ethiopia and Madagascar of the African Continent. In addition to this India has acquired 2.1 million hectares of land from the South East Asian nations like Indonesia and Lao People Republic belonging to Continent of Asia. Surprisingly, India is one of the top ten destinations for other countries who compete with each other for acquiring the land in India. Recent reports have estimated that about 4.6 million hectares of land has been acquired by different countries by signing of about 113 legal contracts for properties related with the purchase of lands with Indian government. As per the report put forward by the World Watch Institute the agricultural land acquired by Indian government has displaced the local peasants without providing them with proper hygienic relocation and rehabilitation. Secondly the land acquired by the national government has been utilized for the growth of industries that can have great and hazardous ecological impact and can result into decay of healthy environment giving rise to the cyclic chain of greenhouse effect in that areas. So though India acquires the land in other parts of the world and facilitates the acquisition of its own land by other nations own areas, it should act with a caution as the land acquisitions results in shortage of food, water and supplies for the locals. So India should be very careful and cautious while taking giant leaps before making land acquisitions that may one day land it in a fray. It is righty said that Look before you leap and think twice before you speak.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
