Pune: The PMC has seen tremendous revenue inflow after the announcement of a concession scheme for early birds. Citizens writing off their tax dues by or before May 31st are eligible for a tax concession based on the tax amount due. Tax payers settling their dues before this month end will be given a tax concession of 10%. With this announcement made people queued up in front of the PMC offices to pay taxes.This concession scheme has generated a revenue inflow Rs.100 crore for PMC. The number is expected to rise even further by this month end. The tax collection section of the PMC is given more importance because it is one of the major sources of revenue generation. In the past few days almost 52,000 people have settled their tax dues, taking the number to 2 lakh.Though this has come as good news for the PMC there have also been delays in dispatching the hard copies of the property tax bills to tax payers. PMC has also found a way out for this difficulty.
