Pune camp is located in Pune city under district Pune in the western region of Maharashtra state. It is also known as Pune Cantonment and in Marathi language it is called Pune Chavani. As the name suggest it is a military cantonment and was started in the year 1817 to accommodate the troops of British Indian Army. This area has several military establishments.
