Bangalore: One more week is left for the property owners to pay their property tax. Property owners can pay their tax till May 30. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will be offering an extension of rebate of 5 % on payment when amount paid in full from 30th April to 30th May. BBMP made clear that the rebate will be offered only for the property owners who will be paying full tax payment for the 2015-16, Assessment Year.If the property owner pays tax in installments then the first installment should be paid by May 30. If the owner fails to make the first installment then he may have to pay penalty of 2 % interest each month till the payment is done. The interest will be calculated on the total tax payable. The second installment has to be made till 25th November, 2015.Property owners also have a convenience to make the payment through online mode. They can either make the payment by visiting official BBMP site or via net banking. No additional transaction amount will be charged for online process.If the tax payable is less than Rs. 1,000, the property owners can also make the payment in cash by submitting it at any BBMP help centres, Bangalore One centre or in offices of sub-divisional Assistant Revenue Officer (ARO).
