During a meet between the Minister of Urban Development of India and Canadian Minister of International Trade, Canada made a strong offer of providing wooden housing technology to allow India to meet its objective of ‘Housing for All by 2022’.The minister of International trade, Canada primarily looked into all the queries, meticulously with respect to the new proposals in urban sector which comprises of Housing for all, building of 100 smart cities and infrastructural growth in urban regions of the country. He wanted to know the exact time required for execution of the proposal and also identify the areas that require technologies and investment.Our Urban Development Minister gave all the necessary details with respect to the different initiatives and requested to make a mutual effort in respect of affordable housing, sanitation, recycling, waste water and public transport facilities in urban localities and construction of smart cities.The international trade Minister of Canada spoke about the country’s finesse in wooden housing technology and also elaborated that how this technology will benefit the multi story construction to meet India’s housing requirements. The life span of wooden structures is around 60 years and is flexible to renovate.
