CREDAI to Offer 1 Lakh Apartments under Affordable Housing Scheme

credai-logoDelhi/NCR – With an intention to boost affordable housing segment, Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI) -Uttar Pradesh is planning to come up with one lakh affordable housing units across this state, mostly in Noida and Greater Noida. The assignment will be handed over to private developers after government agrees to commence with this ambitious project.According to the sources, the housing policy is joint initiative by public and private sector.  The government will be allotting land to the private builders to kick off with the construction process.The senior member of CREDAI- UP said that they will stick by their commitment and are expecting positive feedback from the government. They are waiting for the response from the government, as per which the housing scheme will be included under infrastructure development segment.  Private developers will have to get themselves registered for this housing scheme.He further added saying that the affordable housing scheme will offer residences to economically weaker section, lower income group and middle income group people.  The construction work is expected to get started from this year end in UP.In the current conference, UPCON held in Agra, a wide number of private developers showed interest to participate in this initiative. According CREDAI, this housing scheme will not only benefit the homebuyers but will also be favorable for builders to create good business plans. Luxuries apartments are actually difficult to sell off whereas affordable housing units get buyers immediately and assure better returns to the developers.
