National Green Tribunal Calls for ‘Green’ Concretization Survey

ngtDelhi/NCR – The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has ordered for a survey in Ghaziabad to detect the amount of concretization on the allocated green zones and scrutinize whether the civic authorities have used standard tiles for footpaths and pavements. After hearing the appeal filed by the local environmental activists, the main bench of green tribunal along with its chairperson had ordered for the survey.  For conducting the survey, the court delegated duty to a local commissioner and asked Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation to take care of all the expenses to prepare the statement. The environmental activists had presented photographic proof in the court of the concrete pavements and footpaths that has been put down by the municipal corporation, based on this evidence the tribunal took decision to conduct a survey. They further complained to the court saying that concretization has crossed the limit and has extended so much which made exposure of surface water below the ground unfeasible. The court in its order observed that in their order dated 20th February, 2014, they clearly mentioned that tiling or concretization should not surpass more than 5 % and check footpath and tracks are laid only with permeable and semi-permeable, perforate blocks.  There is a clear breach of their order. However, recently, the municipal corporation of Ghaziabad presented photographs as proof and stated to the court that no concretization has been took place on the green zones of the city.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
